Rubber Ducky
Logline
The night after a sexual assault, a lonely college student accidentally finds solace in a toy rubber duck.
Synopsis
On New Year’s Eve, a disheveled 22 year old waits for a detective in a New York City police precinct. The girl waits and waits, begging anyone who passes by to take her statement. Eventually able to catch the attention of the precinct with a murderous scream, the girl insists that she must file a report. Later that night, the girl lies on a hospital table in the emergency room. A jovial male doctor examines her, snapping pictures and tutting about Eric Adams’ promises to clean up New York. Finally alone in her apartment, the girl triple locks her door and settles into the bathtub to scrub her body clean. Unable to hold back her welling emotion, the girl lashes out, splashing water through her bathroom. The girl’s splash dislodges a toy rubber duck, which becomes her only comfort.
